About EOS/ESDA and EOS/ESDA Standards
Established in 1982, the EOS/ESD Association, Inc. is a professional voluntary organization committed to advancing the knowledge of electrical overstress (EOS) and promoting the theory and application of electrostatic discharge (ESD) prevention. It’s the only organization accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) to write and produce standards on electrostatics.
Based in Rome, New York, the ESD Association boasts a rich international presence. Its diverse membership spans over 30 countries worldwide, actively participating in Association Standards Committees, delivering technical papers at the annual EOS/ESD Symposium, and fostering communication ties with like-minded organizations across the globe.
From fewer than 100 members, the association has flourished to encompass over 2,000 members globally. Originally focused on the impact of ESD on electronic components, the association has since broadened its scope to encompass diverse fields like textiles, plastics, web processing, cleanrooms, and graphic arts.
